In nature, whether it is rain, wind, snow, utensils, animals and plants, etc., as long as they are beneficial to humans, are mostly portrayed and evolved into a pattern with auspicious blessings. These patterns are also applied in the use of kimono, architecture, pottery lacquer art and other items. No matter which kind of pattern, its meaning has been inherited from ancient times or from daily life. These auspicious patterns are used because it brings peace and happiness to the lives of people.

The purpose of this study is to take a sample of auspicious plants in the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods as a sample, and in order to understand the combination of auspicious meanings and plant patterns from the context of historical development, and to explore the combination of traditional Japanese patterns. In addition, the basic principles of decorative rules such as "translation", "mirror", "rotation", "displacement mirror" are used as a basis for re-analysis and to understand the age of the plant samples.

The results of the study are as many as 1 single permutations, with the highest number of rotational movements, and more than 2 kinds of moving methods with mirror and rotation are used at the most. This can make the plant samples appear more lively and diverse in arrangement.
However, the arrangement and the combination of Japanese auspicious plant patterns are still based on the arrangement of traditional patterns, and through the collation and analysis of this study, the pattern can be used in the development of various types of merchandise design.
