日月潭多元化行銷、締造驚人的觀光人潮，近幾年更進一步推廣深度旅遊，介紹日月潭好山好水同時，邵族文化也慢慢被世人所注意。邵族過往歷史變遷讓邵族土地流失，生活習慣漢化嚴重及人口分散與銳減都影響到邵族文化發展與傳承。邵族人口總數是台灣原住民中最少的一族，大多分佈於南投縣魚池鄉及水里鄉。邵族擁有很多獨特的文化如「杵歌」及其它族所沒有的「祖靈籃」信仰。
邵族沒有自己的文字，但口傳文學是文化傳承特色之一，神話傳說、逐鹿傳奇故事、歌謠、祝禱詞等不同形式的口傳文學文本與儀式中含有許多邵族過去先人的觀念、信仰和風俗文化。經由口傳文化形式，可使邵族後人及世人了解更多邵族的文化特色。邵族人數雖少，卻是擁有豐富完整的口傳文學資產的族群，但近年來邵族不只面臨語言與文化流失問題，人口也呈現負成長，顯見邵族之族群存續與文化延續問題已趨向最嚴峻的形勢。
藉由本文研究邵族神話傳說，以桌上遊戲為輔具，設計一款邵族獨特風格的桌上遊戲。因工作地緣之便，日月潭雲品溫泉酒店休閒育樂中心有提供住客桌遊租借服務，經半年桌遊租借數據，統計出十借閱率最高桌遊遊戲，由這些熱門遊戲分析出玩遊戲玩家的年齡層、遊戲時間、遊戲人數…等方向，作為創作設計範圍依據。這套遊戲會放置在酒店內供客人租借使用，透過遊戲來學習及介紹邵族，藉此推廣邵族神話傳與延續文化傳承，免於因為時空演變而消失殆盡。

The diverse and multifaceted marketing of Sun Moon Lake has resulted in astonishing success in generating tourist traffic, along with stimulating deeper tourism and eco-tourism in recent years which not introduce the beautiful environs of Sun Moon Lake, however the environmental consequences of this tourism growth have meant the Thao Nation traditional lifestyles have come under persistent and pervasive threats of Sinicization, which has adversely impacted Thao cultural transmission. The Thao Nation is the smallest among Taiwan’s indigenous nations, with most members living in Yuchi Township and Shuili Township in Nantou County. The Thao Nation have many unique cultural attributes such as their “pestle song” and belief in their “ancestral spirits basket”.
The Thao Nation’s language is unwritten, and is a threatened language as a result of the onslaught of outside forces, but the Thao oral literature is rich with myths and legends, the story of hunting for deer, rhymes and songs, and blessings, which express much of the Thao Nation ancestral history and heritage, faith and traditional culture. The cultural transmission of their oral literature may allow the Thao Nation and the rest of the world to better appreciate their cultural characteristics. While the population of the Thao Nation is small in numbers, they have a robust wealth of oral literature, but in recent years the Thao language and culture have become subject to the threat of loss, and with population decline, this has meant the Thao Nation and its cultural sustainability have become seriously threatened.
This study explores the Thao Nation’s oral literature culture and legends, to design aboard game based on Thao Nation myths and legends. Through exploring the Thao Nation oral literature transmission, culture, and myths and legands, the study seeks to design a unique style board game for Thao heritage; playing the game will then spread knowledge of the Thao Nation, promoting appreciation of Thao traditional oral literature and its rich literary resources, thereby helping to stave off the threats of extinction affecting the Thao culture.
