文化的傳承仰賴族羣對文化的深度認識與認同,客家文化亦不例外。近年來,隨著客委會、客家電視台等的設立與大力推廣,以及客家母語教學的強化,客家文化已廣受大眾的重視與喜愛。然而,對客家文化的認識、認同與傳承,還需仰賴年幼的一代不斷延續下去,若能從兒童時期便開始著手教育,成效將會更佳。對成長階段的孩童來說,繪本是他們最喜歡閱讀並吸收知識的重要工具之一。繪本有精彩的文字故事,加上賞心悅目的圖像表現,不但可加深兒童對客家文化的認識與連結,並且可有效地傳遞文化內涵與意義。因此,客家兒童繪本在客家文化的承傳上,扮演了重要且有效的角色。然而,目前對於客家兒童繪本相關領域的研究,尚缺乏完整與深入的探討,極需加強。本研究以客家兒童繪本中的視覺圖像表現為研究主題,透過比較分析來找出其中視覺的圖像表現,是否能具體表現出客家文化的內涵與意義,有效且適當的扮演其角色。
本研究依繪本的作者、出版年代、內容與表現技法與風格特色等加以統整與歸納,發現客家兒童繪本的發展歷史雖短,但受到政府母語教育政策、文化創意產業等影響,從早期的客家童謠類型,循序漸進地發展成現在的融入客家文化內涵的繪本,各時期的主要內容與發展雖不同,但皆能有效發揮階段性的功能。再者,客家文化繪本所使用的文化元素多元寬廣,不只是客家先民傳統生活的展現,也能涵蓋現今社會新創和再造的客家文化價值。透過比較分析顯現出客家兒童繪本中視覺圖像表現形式,亦可發現不同的創作者皆能發揮自我風格特色,並充分傳達客家文化元素的內涵與意義,在教育兒童認識客家文化,進而認同與傳承客家文化上能發揮極大的功效。

英文摘要

Cultural Inheritance is dependent on the deep cognition and cultural identity of certain ethnic group, and Hakka culture is no exception. In recent years, Hakka culture has been gradually emphasized and loved in public because of the establishment and great culture promotion of Hakka Affairs Council, Hakka TV by the government, and the enhancement of Hakka native language lectures. However, the understanding, identity and inheritance of Hakka culture need to rely on the younger generation to pass down incessantly. Moreover, if we are able to start Hakka education right from childhood, it would be better for children to learn Hakka culture. For the growing children, picture books are of the important tools that can help them to love reading and absorb knowledge. In addition to the wonderful stories, there are also many beautiful images on picture books, which can not only make a deeper connection in Hakka culture for children but also create more effective transmission of cultural connotation and meanings. Therefore, Hakka picture books play an important and effective role on Hakka culture heritage. However, the researches of Hakka picture books nowadays are short of complete and deep discussion. Accordingly, this study focuses on the visual image expressions in Hakka picture books, and finds out whether the visual image expressions can represent Hakka cultural connotation and meanings properly by comparative methods.
This study classifies the Hakka picture books by the authors, publication years, contents, techniques of expressions, styles and so on. Even if the history of Hakka picture books is short, with the influence that the government executed the policy of mother-tongue education and promoted the cultural and creative industries, the contents of Hakka picture books transformed from nursery rhyme into Hakka cultural connotation. Though the types and development of Hakka books in each period are different, Hakka books can display their functions in each step effectively. Moreover, Hakka picture books contain abundant cultural elements, and they not only show the traditional lives of Hakka ancestors, but cover the new Hakka culture value. With the comparative analysis, we can find each creator uses different visual image expressions to express their personal style, in the meantime, performing Hakka cultural connotation and meanings sufficiently. Indeed, Hakka picture books are really helpful for children to learn Hakka culture, and then identify and spread the culture.
